The Secrets Out!

Have you ever kept a secret you wanted to tell so badly? Remember how it feels when you are finally able to let it all out?!? That is how I have been feeling this week. Because Kev's and I secret is out! That's right. . .I'm expecting my first child!!! We are sooo excited! Monday, March 8th was our first appointment and then this last Monday I got my first ultrasound.
We told his parents on Monday night and then sent one of the ultrasound pictures to my parents. I finally received a call from my mom last night. So many people were surprised. Probably because there are so many people pregnant and we didn't say anything. I will be 15 weeks along on this Tuesday. My due date is September 7th. The other night I was pushing on my stomach and I pushed hard on where my baby was and could actually feel the baby. It was a bump! How cool!
God has been showing me how much He loves me through this pregnancy. My sister in law, Carrie is 2 weeks ahead of me in her babiness. We would talk about how much fun it would be to be pregnant at the same time. I felt so blessed that we were able to share this time together. I realized on January 9th that I was pregnant. I told Kevin that I think it would be so fun to be pregnant at the same time as Hannah Avery along with Carrie. The day after I said that, Kev and I were at his parents and Brian told us that Hannah is expecting!! She is due September 5th!! Two days before me! God's love sometimes overwhelms me!
Also, maybe people will realize the reason my stomach is growing isn't due to getting fatter! Bonus!

I Ponder as I Ponder. . . .

Greetings!!! Lately I have been thinking a lot about becoming a better housewife. I have been trying to think of how I can manage taking care of the house and my dear husband, keeping (or getting) the school's kitchen running smoothly, and spending enough time with God.
All of these things have been a real struggle for me since I got married and seem not to get any easier to balance. Some things I have been pondering about doing for a while now are to make a list of housework and to do at least one load of laundry a day. I am also wanting to start up doing etsy more diligently. I have a few items posted but have been taking a little break from it to relax and get other things that I needed to to get done. Our Spring Break is March 19-30 and I am planning on working around the house (and hopefully garden!) and to get a lot of etsy projects done and listed. I was able to use the profit from etsy to pay our car insurance for the first 6 months of this year and am hoping to be able to for the last 6 months of this year. I am also really wanting to get internet at my house next school year. It will be so much easier to do my duties for the school that way and to blog on here!!

Today has been such a wonderful day! I woke up a little before 11 AM, made a few phone calls , went to lunch, then prayer meeting, and have been just monkeying around on here. It has been such a relaxing day today!
This semester I only cook lunch on Tuesday and Thursday, much better than last semester. I cooked lunch Monday - Friday, along with ordering all the food, doing inventory and making sure the kitchen was running smoothly. I feel guilty now when I have free time. . .but I get over it really quickly ;). Well that's all for now!

Greetings to all!

It has been awhile since I last wrote! I have been keeping myself busy with cooking lunch, knitting, and making baskets. This week our school has been struggling with sickness! Several of our students had/ve the flu and we also have colds going around. Yesterday morning I woke up with the cold, thankfully not the flu. . .yet.
Tomorrow we have a soccer game that I am looking forward too. It is in Elizabethtown, KY, which is 3-4 hours from here. We are leaving at 6AM to get there for our game at 11AM.
Oh, I got a puppy since last time I wrote on here. I think he is the cutest puppy in the world, and he is very intelligent! He sits, lies down, jumps up(even when we don't want him too) and shakes. The picture posted is of his first bath. His name is Hillbilly, Billy for short. We thought it was appropriate since he is our first Kentucky dog. Well, that is all for now!

Getting Settled

I am finally starting to figure out what I am doing! Last week was pretty hectic getting to know the students, to learn the kitchen, to cover for some of the kitchen staff who hadn't arrived yet, and to do the other various tasks that were assigned. I love being here and working here! I don't think I could have a better "job". Almost half of the students are not from the US and I am greatly enjoying learning the new cultures.
Last week I was not able to work on any of my projects very much except for Friday night. We had a ladies craft night! It was relaxing and helped me to get a lot done on one of the custom order Christmas Stockings I am working on. This week has been much better already for knitting and it has only begun!! I was able to knit earlier today and am planning on working on some more ideas for my fall and winter section on Custom Coffey tonight, since I wasn't able to go to Bible Study. I have sooo many ideas in my head of what I want to do and not enough time to do them! I think I need to do etsy full-time. I noticed today that I really need to finish the French Bread Basket that is almost done. I did get the wash cloth done and into the shop though! You can see it here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29348026
I need to get some pictures up of what I am working on soon!

New Beginnings. . .

It's finally here!! I have been wanting to start a blog, but knew my life was not too exciting at the time to keep people interest. But recently my husband and I, Kevin, moved an hour and 20 mins. down South to work at Mt. Carmel Schools. I am sure I will have plenty of stories to tell now! We are the Deans of Students, he more than I. He also teaches and I cook for the whole school. I am still in shock that we are no longer pastoring a church. Everything has happened so quickly and yet has taken so long! We will miss our Sharpsburg "family" but are really enjoying being here and know we are where God wants us to be. Mt. Carmel is a boarding school and Dean of Students is kind of like their parents when they are not in school. Yes, that's right we "get" to discipline them, eek!
I also am planning on telling you which project I am working on next to list on my shop at etsy. My website is www.customcoffey.etsy.com Currently I am working on a knit dish cloth and and getting stuff around to make a basket to put French Bread in. I am excited about the upcoming holidays and winter and thinking of things that would be neat to make for them! I think I have been in the Christmas mood since April now! I have been knitting Christmas Stockings for some of my customers since then and keep finding myself singing Christmas carols. Christmas is just a few months away. . . If you have any ideas on things you would like me to make, let me know and I will see what I can do!
